“Share the Rock, Share the Luck" Check Presentation

LDF CEO Drew Moser and UC San Diego Athletic Director Earl Edwards as LDF honors the “Share the Rock, Share the Luck” pledge by donating $27,000 toward ending youth homelessness thanks to the men’s team’s 18 assists and the women’s team’s 7 assists on “Lucky Duck Night,” as well as two free throws made by CBS-8’s John Howard.

UC San Diego basketball hosted “Lucky Duck Night” during two home games at LionTree Arena – the women’s game vs. UC Irvine on February 8 and the men’s game vs. Hawaii on February 22.

Co-branded t-shirts were given away*, Timmy’s Place pizza was served**, and our collective efforts to end youth homelessness were featured on the arena video boards and during the ESPN+ broadcasts.

When the Tritons “shared the rock,” we “shared the luck” by donating $1,000 toward ending youth homelessness for every UC San Diego assist. The women’s team had 7 assists against UC Irvine, the men’s team had 18 assists vs. Hawaii, and CBS-8’s John Howard made a few baskets to add to our donation.

*T-shirts were given out to the first 750 fans at the February 6 men’s game and the first 250 fans at the February 8 women’s game.

**Timmy’s Place pizza was served at the February 22 men’s game at the Student Fanfest. UC San Diego will also utilize Timmy’s Place for tailgates at various games throughout the year.
