If you’re like most people, you have gently-used items taking up space and gathering dust in your home and garage. Many of our collaborative partners accept new and used items to support their facilities. To get information on how to donate goods, visit our partners below.
Alpha Project is a human services organization that serves over 4,000 men, women, and children each day. Services include affordable housing, residential substance abuse treatment, supportive housing for people with special needs, necessary and emergency services for the homeless, transportation assistance, mental health counseling, employment training, preparation and placement, emergency shelter, HIV/AIDS, education, outreach and prevention, and community services.
Alpha Project only accepts items that can be used immediately such as hygiene products, towels, twin sheets, undergarments, blankets, books, clothing in good condition, coats, blankets, socks, and pillows. Other items accepted include bunk beds, filing cabinets, tables, and other household and office items. There are two drop-off locations in San Diego. For more than four decades, Family Health Centers of San Diego’s (FHCSD) has provided affordable, high-quality health care and support services to all people, with a commitment to the uninsured, low-income and medically underserved. They provide care to more than 190,000 patients citywide.
Family Health Centers accepts donations for their Baby Boutique, specifically new or gently used baby items for new moms and moms-to-be in their wellness program. To donate items for the Baby Boutique, call 619-906-4621 or visit their program site.
Feeding San Diego is the leading hunger relief organization in the county, providing 26 million meals with dignity to San Diego residents facing hunger last year. They have been innovating new logistical, technological, and relationship-building solutions to the problem of food insecurity since 2007. They provide food and resources to a network of more than 260 neighborhood partners serving 63,000 children, families and seniors each week.

The mission of Father Joe’s Villages is to prevent and end homelessness, one life at a time. Established in 1950 to serve San Diegans experiencing homelessness and poverty, they have grown to include a comprehensive campus and scattered-site programs that house over 2,000 people nightly.
Father Joe’s Villages accepts gently-used or new goods including clothing, furniture, jewelry, entertainment items, collectibles and more. To donate goods, call 619-446-2100, fill out the pick-up form or find a drop-off center near you.
HWAC is a unique, private non-profit organization in San Diego County committed to the philosophy of people helping animals and animals helping people. Staying true to their philosophy, HWAC created the “Pets Without Walls” program to help homeless San Diegans by keeping their pets fed and healthy. The bond between people experiencing homelessness and their pets is strong.
Helen Woodward collects goods to be packed in their care kits distributed to homeless people and their pets. Items requested are socks, beanies, toiletries, energy bars, bottled water, and cat and dog treats. Donations can be dropped off at the Center or you can contact Anne Edwards at 858-756-4117 ext. 358 or AnneE@animalcenter.org.
VVSD has served veterans since 1981 and is dedicated to “Leave No One Behind.” Nationally recognized as the leader in helping homeless military veterans, VVSD is the only program of its kind in the United States. Each year VVSD provides services to more than 2,000 military veterans throughout San Diego County.
Veterans Village accepts new or gently used clothing, towels, socks, new underwear (men and women), belts and additional household items for veterans in shelters and those transitioning into new homes.
