Lucky Duck Foundation and Computers 2 Kids Partner to Provide Laptops for Every Graduate of LDF’s $1 million Employment & Job Training Program

The Lucky Duck Foundation and Computers 2 Kids today announced a new partnership that will provide laptops and employment opportunities to individuals experiencing homelessness.

With funding from the Lucky Duck Foundation (LDF), Computers 2 Kids (C2K) will support LDF’s newest $1 million employment & job training initiative, which consists of ten different programs spanning a multitude of industries, by providing a laptop for every individual that successfully completes their respective program. Additionally, C2K will offer paid internships as well as part-time and full-time employment opportunities in technology, tech support, and warehouse operations to individuals experiencing homelessness.

“Our mission is to alleviate the suffering of homelessness. We try to eliminate as many barriers as possible in order to help homeless San Diegans end their homelessness,” said Drew Moser, Lucky Duck Foundation’s Executive Director. “Access to technology is critical for employability, securing housing, and returning to self-sufficiency. We are thrilled to partner with C2K to provide laptops and employment opportunities to help people overcome their homelessness.”

“In any given year, C2K distributes more than 35,000 laptops to help bridge the digital divide throughout San Diego County. We are excited to expand that reach by providing laptops as well as employment opportunities to San Diegans who are trying to end their homelessness,” said Cheri Pierre, CEO of C2K.

LDF’s first $1 million employment and job training program launched in 2020 and benefited more than 500 individuals. LDF anticipates its newest $1 million investment in employment and job training programs will benefit even more individuals suffering from homelessness.
